I am a Licensed Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, as well as an active member of the Ontario Psychological Association. I have been practicing for almost 20 years in various settings offering support to clients, students, communities & colleagues alike.

 

My previous work experiences consist of various hospitals in the Chicagoland Area, including Mt. Sinai & Cook County Hospitals, among others. I served as a Director of the Clinical Services department, having the honour & pleasure of supervising over 20 students and 10 direct reports, & as an Adjunct Professor at my graduate institution while in Chicago. Upon my return to Toronto, I was the Lead Psychologist at North York General Hospital’s Child & Adolescent Mental Health Clinic for 10 years working with children, adolescents, families & parents with a variety of presenting concerns. I also worked at a local private practice where I saw individuals of all ages. 

 

My experience & thorough enjoyment working in each of these settings offered me the confidence & ambition to establish Monarch Therapy and Wellness Centre. The name for the practice was chosen in honour of my late grandmother, who always loved & believed in the healing power of Monarch butterflies.

 

In my work with clients I focus on developing a strong therapeutic relationship. That’s why although I was fundamentally trained as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) therapist, I follow a more integrative talk-therapy approach (Relational, Narrative or Trauma-informed Therapy), infused with standardized evidence-supported elements. I work with what my clients are able to offer at the time of treatment & develop a plan to support their needs. My clients will feel supported, cared for & understood while I guide them to empowerment & confidence in building skills and self-worth.
